Håfa Adai! Welcome to a fun and interactive place where you can learn and enjoy the Chamorro  language!

My name is Maria Pielago and I am a student at the University of California, Berkeley. I created this website as a project for my Language Revitalization class in hopes that I can further help with the revitalization and valorisation efforts that are currently being made for the Chamorro language by providing the Chamorro people living outside of Guam and the Mariana Islands a place where they can learn and be exposed to their language, culture and community- even if it is at a basic level. I also hope that this site encourages and opens the doors for the younger and future generations to further pursue learning and implementing Chamorro in their daily lives.

I would like to thank Jessica Mendiola for helping me create this website by providing insight as well as taking the time to help me record the audio files. I would also like to thank my professor, Christine Beier, for the feedback and guidance that she has given me to help make this project possible. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please contact me at pielago.eunice@berkeley.edu and I will get back to you as soon as possible!
